Visual Arts: Remote learning, Term Two Grade Two: Thursday May the 21st: The lost Thing
Hello Parents carers and students!

I hope you enjoyed last week’s Pointillism activity!
I am so excited that you will all soon be back in my art room listening to the radio creating some magnificent artworks!
This is the last week of online learning! I am so proud of how well you have all coped with remote learning and have really enjoyed all of the work submitted.

This week I want to show you a wonderful Australian children’s book Author and Illustrator, Shaun Tan. He is a very talented artist. My favourite book of his is called the “The lost thing”

Here is a video of his book

Here is Shaun Talking about his amazing book

After looking at Shaun Tans Book I want you to think about how he drew the different creatures in his book.
What were they made up of?
Were they real?
Shaun Tans drawings are very surreal. Surrealism is a type of art where it is dreamlike and def not real looking.
Here is a quick video further explaining surrealism

Surrealism is so much fun! You can use your imagination to create almost anything!
This week I want you to create your own “Lost thing”
It would be great if you could try and incorporate Shaun Tans specific style into your artwork.
Let’s get into it!
For this task you will need

  • Grey lead
  • Paper
  • Coloured pencils or water colour pencils if you have them!

I look forward to seeing your big imaginations in this task!
Have fun doing your last online art lesson!
See you next week!
Ms Woodbridge
