Phonics Learning Intention: To identify and apply the sound to the letter Tt and write the letter using correct letter formation. Success Criteria: I can say the sound for the letter “Tt” and write it using correct letter formation. Activity: Sound pack Practice sound pack with video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AAtXf5Y4eo&feature=emb_err_watch_on_yt Handwriting Writing on whiteboards a-m then n-z https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ec4g0Waj2s Practice writing t – in online meeting Students complete Rainbow Writing “t” handout (found in literacy learning pack – see image below). Students use 5 different colours to practice letter formation for the letter t. Writing NB: This task requires submission Learning Intention To write a recount about weekend events/activities. Success criteria I can write simple sentences about weekend events. Activity Watch Recount writing with Mrs Walton video http://youtu.be/03oHzTODMLw?hd=1 Students can pause video and copy one of the sentence starters from Mrs Walton or parents can write sentence starter on a whiteboard for child to copy. Students attempt to complete sentence e.g. “I played…”, “I made…” Focus on using capital letters, full stops and writing in complete sentences. Reading Learning Intention: To make a prediction about a text before reading. Success Criteria: I can use features on a front cover of a text (title, illustration) to make a prediction of what the story might be about. Week 3 Brian the Smelly Bear – NB: Pause at front cover to make prediction or see front cover image attached with compass learning task https://youtu.be/SyPTHN08sEI Activity: Students look at the front cover of this weeks picture story book “Brian and the Smelly Bear” (Pause at the front cover part) Students draw a picture of what they “predict” will happen during the story. Students can attempt to write a sentence about their prediction or have a parent scribe their prediction for them. When you are finished listen to the story and check your prediction.
