Learning Intention:
To revise vowels and consonants p, s, m, f, c, t, b, h, n

Success Criteria:
I can name the vowels and consonants we have focused on and apply sounds to them.

Students may choose ONE of the following:
Play bingo. Make your own cards, or use the link attached to learning task. You can print them or use the highlight tool online.


Use play dough to make a picture of your family. Use the playdough to make each person’s name


Complete the scavenger hunt (attached to learning task)


Play hide and seek. The person counting must give directions ie. ‘Please hide behind something’ or ‘Please hide inside something’ Take a photo of the best hiding place and write directions.

Reading (NB: This is today’s learning task submission)

Learning Intention:
To identify rhyming words in a simple text.

Success Criteria:
I can listen to and identify rhyming words in a story.


Listen to the story “Alpacas with Maracas” and see if you can pick out the rhyming words.

Choose one of the rhymes you made and copy the words and draw the picture to match. Or make up one of your own.

To practise identifying and writing simple three letter closed syllable words.

Success Criteria:
I can identify initial, middle and final letter sounds

Use the following words
mud    pot    cat    mat    sat  wet    hot    bin    dog    six

Make these words choosing from the following activities.
1  Write and draw
2  Make them using your alphabet letters.
3  Cut the letters out of magazines or shopping brochures.
4  Play a game of Tic Tac Toe with these words on cards.
5 Make a double set and play Memory.
